Welcome to Friends of Chesterfield's RiverfrontFriends of Chesterfield’s Riverfront is a local, non-profit organization formed in 1997 as a result of the adoption of the Riverfront Plan by Chesterfield County. Friends is represented by community leaders and citizens interested in promoting and enhancing the Appomattox and James Rivers. The organization is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of nine to fifteen citizens which includes riparian landowners and business leaders. Chesterfield County was proactive in adopting a plan that focuses on key natural resources, the river and their environs. Friends focus and emphasis is local, and also seeks and welcomes regional members and participants. Donations to Friends remain in the community! What is Friends Mission?To Lead, partner and unify the community for the Appomattox and James Rivers. Friends fosters positive relationships, partnerships and collaboration between individuals, businesses, industries and the county to enhance the natural resources and built environments associated with the rivers.
